EA revamps control scheme for touch devices

FIFA goes free for mobile and PC

This year’s mobile version of FIFA will be free-to-play, EA has announced.

The move, announced during EA’s Gamescom conference, is part of the publisher’s efforts to grow FIFA’s already huge audience.

The phone and tablet sports game will feature a refreshed touch-screen control scheme, designed specifically for smart devices.

EA also announced its free-to-play PC title FIFA World will be coming to Brazil and Russia later this year.

EA Sports also reported on the success of FIFA Online 3, announced last year for Korea. Described as a "runaway hit", the publisher is working with online giant Tencent to bring the game to China.
