Buzz developer closed in August after 13 years

Former Relentless devs set up new studio BottledBy

Four former members of Buzz creator Relentless have opened a new games studio in Brighton.

BottledBy is the latest venture from coders Tom Roberts and Matt Griffiths, artist Caohsin Lee and sound designer Tim Ansell, who hold a collective 35 years of experience.

On BottledBy’s website, the team says that they will focus on cross-platform development for console and mobile using the Unity engine, as well as services spanning concepting, art creation, audio provision, sound design, tech consultancy and VR and AR.

The studio confirmed that its debut release is “well under way”, adding: “Our mission is to make fun, creative and charming experiences that people want to talk about and share with their friends.”

Relentless closed in August after 13 years in the UK development scene and sales in the tens of millions, as well as a BAFTA win. The developer had opened a new office in Wales mere months earlier.
