PopCap signs connected TV deal

Cross-platform games solution provider Antix Labs has been in operation for more than five years, but in some respects its ‘share and play’ gaming tech was ahead of its time.

However, the UK firm has been busy recently by enabling itsGame Player for connected TV OEMs, while itrolled out into Indonesiajust last month.

The hard work looks to have paid off as Antix has now secured a huge contract with EA-owned PopCap Games.

The deal will enable consumers to share the PopCap games they own across any connected device –smartphone, tablet, TV – via the cloud, so that they can continue play where ever they are.

The highly popular Plants vs Zombies title will be the first of many to be made compatible with the service this quarter.
