Resident Evil arrives on iPhone

iPhone’s credentials as a ‘serious’ games platform have been given another boost with the release of a brand new Resident Evil title that aims to mirror the gameplay seen on recent home console versions of the series.

Resident Evil: Degeneration, which follows the events depicted in the recent CGI movie of the same name, sees players take control of Resident Evil 4 star Leon Kennedy.

The game uses the same over-the-shoulder mechanic that was popularised by both RE4 and the recent RE5, and is controlled by an on-screen d-pad.

Resident Evil: Degeneration costs 3.99 and is available to download now. If recent trends are to be followed a free Lite version, which will likely include just the first few levels, could appear over the coming weeks.
