Sony considers new iPhone rival

According to the Japanese business newspaper Nikkei, Sony is to begin working on a potential new hybrid of gaming device and phone that is designed to rival the iPhone’s success.

As reported by Reuters, the Japanese electronics firm is believed to be readying a development team who will begin work on the device in July. Despite establishing the portable gadget market with the success of the Walkman, since the iPod and iPhone’s releases Sony has struggled to hold pace in the sector.
