Creatures Family to launch in 2017, preceded by "multi-platform teaser" releases

Spil Games to revive Creatures as mobile title

1990s AI series Creatures is to make a comeback in the form of a free-to-play mobile game.

The rights to the IP, which was originally created by Millennium Interactive dev Steve Grand in 1996, have been purchased by Spil Games from accessories company Bigben Interactive.

The casual games firm also revealed that it is producing a new entry in the franchise: Creatures Family.

The free-to-play mobile title will be launched next year, and will be preceded by a series of “multi-platform teaser” releases, Spil said.

“Iconic brands, like Creatures, will be the cornerstone of Spil Games’ long term strategy,” said CEO Tung Nguyen-Khac.

“And this is just the start. You will see a number of significant new mobile games emerging from Spil Games this year.”
