GAME to close internal customer services department

UK retailer GAME says it will now offer a 24-hour customer service hotline by transferring it to an external partner.

GAME currently handles customer services internally at its Basingstoke HQ, but can only be reached between 8am – 8pm (or 10am – 5pm on Sunday).

According to employees at GAME’s current customer service department, they’ve been offered the chance to move to this new, external partner. However, this new contact centre is reportedly based in Birkenhead, which is a 4-hour commute from Basingstoke.

We can confirm that after careful consideration we have decided to transfer our Customer Services function to an external partner that specialises in retail contact centres," GAME said in a statement.

The decision is part of GAME’s ongoing commitment to deliver a leading omni-channel shopping experience and the highest levels of customer service, which includes the ability to receive advice and help24hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our chosen partner is a recognised leader in its industry, and this partnership will allow us to provide the very best levels of support for our customers in the future."
