Former Mobile Pie creative director, author, and Develop columnist joins American mobile company

TinyCo scores major talent Will Luton

Free-to-play guru Will Luton has revealed he’s joining North American mobile developer TinyCo.

Formerly the creative director of Mobile Pie, Luton is well known to Develop readers for his regular column.

He left Mobile Pie last September, and has since worked as a consultant while finishing his book Free 2 Play: Making Money From Games You Give Away, published by Pearson this July.

“However, there were a couple itches that needed to be scratched: I wanted to take the leap over the Atlantic with my partner and I wanted to be back making games with global reach,” Luton wrote on his blog.

“That meant joining an organization with a scale that would allow me to create games for a billion people and a company whose future I could shape and believe in.”

“So when one of my favourite clients, TinyCo, offered me a position the fit seemed perfect. Last month I was very proud to join the team and am looking forward to the next few years and some great games.”

TinyCo has offices in San Francisco and Vancouver, and is best known for iOS and Android titles like Spellstorm, Tiny Castle, Tiny Monsters, and Tiny Village.
