Luton to take up senior product manager role

Rovio hire Will Luton for Angry Birds 2 role

Rovio are bolstering their ranks by hiring Will Luton as a Senior Product Manager based in their Stockholm office to work on Angry Birds 2.

“It’s a really exciting time to join Rovio as they continue to gain traction with F2P products. For me Angry Birds is mobile gaming royalty – you’d be hard pushed to find such recognition and fandom anywhere else." Said Luton about his new role with the company.

Will literally wrote the book on free to play games — it’s called "Free-to-Play: Making Money from Games You Give Away" and was published in 2013. He’s also worked for A Thinking Ape, TinyCo and Sega in addition to some dabbling at the business end of games journalism, including words for this very publication.

“We are very excited to have an industry heavyweight like Will joining our team in Stockholm. Will’s expertise in free-to-play will be highly valuable in further development of our high-performing games.” says Reginaldo Valadares, Stockholm’s head of studio ‘I wish Will a very warm welcome to Rovio’.
