TV ads lift Forge of Empires past 10m users

InnoGames is using UK TV to grow the userbase of its free-to-play strategy game Forge of Empires.

The ads have been running for several weeks, with the online games firm planning a long-term TV campaign for the title.

The campaign has helped Forge of Empires push its userbase past 10m, as well as expand its target demographic.

TV spots have proven to be a great addition to online advertising, and we managed to reach 10m user registrations for Forge in its first year, a trend which still continues to date,” said PR manager Fabio Lo Zito. We’re constantly airing TV commercials for the game. So far, there’s no end in sight.”

InnoGames is using a midcore approach” to reach a broader audience via TV.

The high production value, combined with the relatively casual core gameplay resonated very well with TV audiences,” he added.
