Modern Warfare 3 sells for $1,725 on eBay

An early copy of Modern Warfare 3 for Xbox 360 was yesterday sold for an eye-watering $1,725 on auction site eBay.

It is believed that the game is one of few that were accidentally sold early by US retailer Kmart.

In total the game received a staggering 88 bids. And with the buyer promising Priority USPS mailing, it’s likely the auction winner is already playing their game.

A quick look on the UK arm of eBay shows that some copies of the game are already available. Indeed, this auction could see the winner with the game as early as tomorrow for 79.99.
