New roles for Futures Binns and Maxwell

UK media group Future has announced the creation of two new senior roles within its games team.

Former games publishing director James Binns is to become the head of Edge International and PC gaming. He will oversee the worldwide development of Edge-Online as well as PC print duo PC Gamer and PC Zone.

Simon Maxwell, the current group publisher for Total Film, is set to take up the role of group publisher for console and online. He will take c Future’s official and independent console titles as well as websites CVG and GamesRadar.

Both men will report to Future UK’s chief executive Robert Price. The appointments will come into effect from March 1st.

James’ games industry expertise is second-to-none and his new role will enable him to focus on growing Edge into a truly international brand and on managing the next stage for our PC gaming portfolio.”

Future currently publishes eleven monthly games mag and runs a number of online consumer games portals including GamesRadar and ComputerAndVideoGames.
