The follow-up to Mass Effect 3 will arrive between late-2014 and mid-2015, a developer at Bioware has revealed.
Speaking with Gamer Syndrome, Mass Effect 3 producer Mike Gamble said that the game will be revealed sometime in 2013.
Last month, executive producer Casey Hudson had confirmed that Bioware had begun work on a completely new Mass Effect game.” Gamble reiterated that fact, saying that the game had only recently gone into full development and hence nailing down a firm release window would be difficult.
"Late 2014 to mid-2015. I honestly can’t tell you an exact [date] because full development on the game started a month or two ago,” he said.
The new Mass Effect game will be developed at Bioware Montreal and, like Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, which is also currently in development, it will utilise DICE’s famed Frostbite engine.
The most recent game in the franchise – Mass Effect 3, released earlier this year to overwhelmingly positive reviews. The game currently stands at 93 on Metacritic (Xbox 360 and PS3) and is a firm game of the year contender.
