PES 2014 gets 20th September release date; demo a week earlier

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 will release on 20th September; three days after Grand Theft Auto V and a week before rival FIFA 14.

While Konami has earlier said that it would release a demo for PES 2014 this month, it has now revealed that the demo will arrive on 11th September on PS3 and 12th September on Xbox 360; around the same time as the FIFA 14 demo.

There won’t be a PC demo this year because, as tweeted by PES European community manager Adam Bhatti, "last year it was hacked, and licenses were revealed that had to be kept secret".

The demo will be fully representative of the final game, Konami says, featuring several teams that will be playable in a full match scenario. The demo will also include a tutorial to get players acquainted with the game’s new controls.

PES 2014 will also see a digital release on PS3, with digital purchases for a limited time pre and post-launch being entitled to bonus content in the form of third kits for Manchester United, Juventus and multiple Latin American teams.

PES 2014 will not feature any one star on the cover, but will instead highlight the UEFA Champions League, for which it holds the exclusive license.

Unlike FIFA 14, PES 2014 is only headed to current-gen consoles (Xbox 360, PS3) and PC with a brand new game engine – a modified version of Kojima Productions’ FOX engine.

The console versions of PES 2014 are currently available for preorder at Flipkart for Rs 3,999. The PC version is also expected to release in India.
