PlayStation Home surpasses 12m users

PlayStation Home director Jack Buser has announced that Sony’s virtual world now boasts a userbase of more than 12 million PS3 owners.

It was also reported that the average amount of time these users spend in Home is 60 minutes, and that 85 per cent of PS3 owners who log in to the service are likely to log in again.

Buser revealed the figure during last week’s Game Developers Conference while attempting to recruit developers as part of Sony’s efforts to evolve the service, according to Kotaku.

Sony hopes to advance Home from being a social network to becoming 3D gaming platform. The company hopes to feature total game integration” in future PS3 titles – both PSN and disc-based.
