Pokemon card game heading to iPad

A Pokmon trading card game is in the works for release on iPad devices later this year, The Pokmon Company has confirmed.

Video personality Josh Wittenkeller originally broke the news on Twitter, posting an image that appeared to show a white iPad playing a version of The Pokmon Trading Card Game Online – currently available on Windows PC and Mac.

A rep from The Pokmon Company has since confirmed the game’s existence to Polygon, though no other information was provided.

An pre-release build of the title is currently making the rounds at The Pokmon World Championship this weekend in Washington D.C. Upon release, it will become the franchise’s first full game available on mobile devices outside of Nintendo’s handheld lines.
