Pokémon targets China with Sun and Moon

New Pokmon titles Sun and Moon will be localised into Chinese, The Pokemon Company has revealed.

In a short Nintendo Direct (below), the Japanese firm’s boss Tsunekazu Ishihara (pictured) said that the two new games would be available in nine languages at launch, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

In addition, the game is coming out in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese and Korean. 2013’s X and Y and 2014’s Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire launched with seven languages.

Ishihara also confirmed that Pokmon Sun and Moon would be launching for 3DS –as per the news that leaked yesterday– and that they would be released at the end of 2016.

No new details – including any gameplay or indication of what these games might look like – were announced.
