PS4 1.6 system update arrives tomorrow, brings new headset support

Sony will tomorrow (February 4th) release the 1.6 firmware update for PS4, bringing with it support for Sony’s 7.1 Pulse Wireless headset.

The platform holder has also announced its 79.99 7.1 Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 for PS4, which will be released on February 10th. It’s compatible either with PS4 using USB or with Vita using the included 3.5mm mini jack adapter.

Also on the way is a Headset Companion App that offers custom EQ setting for specific titles such as Sucker Punch’s InFamous Second Son.

An1.6 update was also released for Sony’s official PlayStation App on iOS and Android last week which introduced Live from PlayStation support, allowing gamers to browse and watch live gameplay via Ustream or Twitch.
