2017’s move into US follows expansion into Shanghai earlier this year

Audio specialist Side to open LA studio

Audio production firm Side has announced its plans to open its first US studio next year.

The company, which was acquired by QA and localisation outlet Pole to Win in mid-2015, will open the doors to Side LA next January.

Based in the city’s Silicon Beach tech hub in the Marina del Rey district, the studio will support services spanning casting, directing and recording for games audio.

The move follows Side’s launch of a Shanghai-based recording studio in March, bolstering the firm’s London HQ and existing office in the Chinese city and expanding its Chinese and Asian voice and audio offerings.

“We’re thrilled to be launching Side LA,” said MD Andy Emery. “As well as being driven by our clients’ requirements, this move will also allow us to expand the production services we’re already providing stateside.

“2016 has been a pivotal growth year for Side and Side LA is strategically located to support our objective of becoming a truly global audio services provider.”
