Bulletstorm includes Gears of War 3 beta

EA is offering players who buy the Bulletstorm Epic Edition early access to Gears of War 3.

Developer Epic Games has teamed up with Bulletstorm publisher EA and Gears of War 3 publisher Microsoft to offer the cross-game incentive.

The Xbox 360 Bulletstorm special edition – on sale February 25th – will include a code granting users access to the Gears of War 3 public beta later in the year. The Epic Edition also includes bonus online content such as armour, boots, a new weapon and extra experience points.

Epic is poised to break new ground in 2011 with Gears of War 3 and Bulletstorm,” said Epic Games’ president Dr. Michael Capps.

With these two highly anticipated triple-A experiences comes a unique opportunity to do something to really excite players, and that’s what we intend to accomplish with the support of Microsoft and EA. This is for the shooter fans.”

Bulletstorm is a new shooter IP for Epic and EA. It features a four-player co-op mode and a ‘skillshot’ system that rewards players for pulling off extravagant kills. It will be avaiable on PS3 and PC as well as the Xbox 360.

Gears of War 3 is currently scheduled for release in autumn 2011. It’s the third instalment in Microsoft’s popular third person action shooter series for Xbox 360.
