Call of Duty: Ghosts will also transfer stats from current to next-gen

Those who buy Call of Duty: Ghosts on current-gen machines won’t miss out should they then migrate to Xbox One or PS4.

Developer Infinity Ward confirmed during a livestream event last night that those who play the game on either PS3 or Xbox 360 will be able to migrate their profiles to PS4 and Xbox One respectively.

Also transferrable will be the Ghosts Season Pass.

Profiles will not be transferrable from PS3 to Xbox One or Xbox 360 to PS4.

EA last month confirmed similar functionality for both FIFA 14 and Battlefield 4, again with the same cross-platform limitations.

The move is more pertinent for EA, of course, as FIFA 14 is out next month, meaning that there is more chance of gamers choosing to buy them in their current-gen guise and then trading up come the arrival of PS4 and Xbox One.

Battlefield 4 is due for release on November 1st and Call of Duty: Ghosts on November 5th.
