Elite creator poised to take to the stage at TEDxAlbertopolis event

David Braben to speak at Albert Hall

Veteran games developer David Braben is to speak at London’s iconic Albert Hall, joining a panel to discuss the relationship shared between art and science.

Braben will be joined on stage by a diverse collection of speakers, from UK chief medical officer Sally Davies, to an inventor of new musical instrument, a seaweed sculptor, an entomologist, a neuroscientist and a famed cryptic crossword setter.

The panel, titled ‘A Tale of Two Cultures’, is part of TEDxAlbertopolis, an independently organised event that is related to the increasingly prominent family of TED events.

Braben will tackle the subject of how game design is in equal parts an artistic and technical endeavour. Braben rose to fame as the creator of Elite. He also stands as the founder of Frontier Developments, and is a driving force in the Raspberry Pi computing project.

TEDxAlbertopolis takes place on 23 September at the Royal Albert Hall. For more information visit the event’s official website.
