Devil May Cry series tops 10m

Having made its name on PS2 and gone on to enjoy success on both Xbox 360 and PS3, Capcom’s Devil May Cry series has now shipped 10m units worldwide.

The original title, which arrived in 2001, was an energetic interpretation of the formula made popular by fellow Capcom IP Onimusha and, to a lesser extent, Resident Evil.

Following to further sequels on PS2, the series arrived on next-gen consoles last year, shooting straight to the top of the UK charts upon its February release and going on to sell 2.2m copies.

The series has also spawned a number of off-shoots, including figures, comics and anime.
