EA signs multi-title Minions deal

The Minions upcoming arrival at the cinema will now be accompanied by a multi-game deal.

EA has teamed up with Illumination Entertainment and Universal Partnerships to release a string of mobile games based both on the Minions and other Illumination characters.

The first title will be Minions Paradise, which is due out this summer, presumably alongside Universal’s Minions film which is scheduled to hit cinemas in July. The game is confirmed to be free to download, which presumably means it will also be free-to-play.

"Illumination Entertainment creates entertaining and unexpected characters in its blockbuster films, such as the Minions, who are a global phenomenon,” EA Mobile’s executive VP Frank Gibeau said.

EA is excited to partner with Illumination and Universal Partnerships & Licensing to bring these delightful characters to life for millions of fans on mobile devices. This incredible partnership will help us bring players an unforgettable way to build the ultimate playground for their Minions, with an engaging story and deep and varied gameplay."
