EA’s Intat: "Gamescom is a pillar for our industry"

Electronic Arts says it will be out ‘in force’ at Gamescom this August.

Less than 24 hours after Microsoft confirmed it wouldn’t be attending the German trade show or the Tokyo Game Show, EA has issued a confident statement underlining the importance of Gamescom.

And it has confirmed it will hold its annual pre-show media briefing on Tuesday August 14th at 4pm.

Gamescom takes place in Cologne, Germany from August 15th to 19th.

"Gamescom is a pillar for our industry," said Jens Uwe Intat, SVP of EA European Publishing in a press release sent out today.

"The show is truly unique in its capacity to draw both industry and consumers to a showcase of the year’s hottest entertainment offerings and we’re looking forward to being there in force again in 2012."

EA is one of the lead members of the BIU, the German trade organisation which co-hosts Gamescom,

The publisher said it will show FIFA 13, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Crysis 3, SimCity and other key titles at the show – and also ‘unveil new content and services’.
