Epic Mickey 2 hits Vita next month with ‘enhanced features’

Sony has confirmed a US release for the PS Vita port of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, adding that the game will arrive in June packed with enhanced features.

The US Playstation blog announced the details earlier today, adding that the game will hit on June 18th. Disney UK revealed that title was heading to Vita back in March, but details were sparse beyond a planned release for Europe.

Epic Mickey 2Xbox 360 and PS3 developer Blitz Studios is handling the port in conjunction with Sony. The gamewill make use of Vita’s touchscreen for controlling the paint thinner and electric beam weapons, as well as allowing players to adjust the camera and control vehicles through the device’s ‘orientation-based’ controls.

A report earlier in the year revealed the console version sold well under expectationsat US retail, so it appears Disney is hoping an upgraded release tailored to Sony’s handheld could be the spark the sequel has been looking for.
