Gran Turismo 6 pre-Christmas release confirmed, but still no date

Sony has reiterated that Gran Turismo 6 will arrive this year, but is still shying away from nailing down a release date.

Speaking with GTPlanet about the game’s release, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president and CEO Jim Ryan said, It will be before Christmas [2013], definitely”.

We gave a lot of thought into what the right strategy should be and we’re firmly committed to the GT6 Christmas release date,” he added.

Ryan also spoke about extensive post-release support for GT6, which includes DLC and other forms of user engagement, but didn’t go into detail.

Also possibly in the pipeline is a new racing wheel for the game. I’m not able to talk about in too much detail right now, but it’s an area where we’ve been very active, certainly in the North American market and we’re going to look at the European market more. I really can’t say more than that,” Ryan said.

Sony is likely to announce the release date for the PS3-exclusive atGamescom later this month.
