Grid 2 gets 31st May release date

Grid 2, the follow-up to 2008’s ground-breaking action racer, Grid, will release on 31st May, Codemasters has announced.

Worryingly for fans in India though, an Indian release for Grid 2 seems uncertain at this point. The PR agency that handled recent Codemasters games like Dirt: Showdown and F1 2012 has informed MCV that Reliance Home Video and Games will not be releasing the game in India.

Reliance had acquired a 50 per cent stake in Codemasters in 2010, taking over distribution for the publisher’s games in India from E-xpress Interactive soon after.

It’s unclear whether future Codemasters games will be released by a different division at Reliance or by an independent distributor. We’ve contacted Reliance and Codemasters for an update on the matter.

Grid 2 is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Update:Reliance has confirmed that it will release Grid 2.More here.
