HTC launches $100m Vive X VR accelerator

HTC is encouraging developers to enter the virtual reality space with a new $100 million programme.

Dubbed Vive X, the accelerator is understandably aimed at getting devs around the globe to build games and apps for the Vive headset.

Initially based in three cites – San Francisco, Beijing and Taipei – the network is designed to provide devs with access to VR specialists, as well as potential mentors to help build their studio up.

Other benefits include links with possible investors and fellow creators, plus more generalised support services in areas such as accounting, finance, HR and legal from HTC.

Applications for the Vive X programme are now open.
