Hulu gets PSN+ exclusivity

Though it has pledged that it won’t strip any existing features from PSN for those who don’t subscribe, Sony is believed to be on the cusp of announcing its first big exclusive PSN Plus functionality.

Technologizer dug up some details about the upcoming version of TV streaming service Hulu that’s heading for the North American arm of Sony’s online service later this month.

If details on Hulu’s own site is accurate, it looks as if the technology will be reserved only for those who subscribe to PSN Plus, the recently released paid-for arm of Sony’s network.

If true, it would represent a change of tact for Sony. Currently everyone registered on PSN is able to access movie rental service Netflix in the region, though Netflix usage is restricted to Gold members of rival network Xbox Live. Microsoft has already confirmed Gold exclusivity for Hulu on XBL.
