MCV AWARDS 2010: Just Dance double for Ubi

Ubisoft’s Just Dance won two key prizes at last night’s MCV Industry Excellence Awards.

The game took home New Games Brand and Sales Triumph. Not bad for a game that only hit retail just over three months ago.

Just Dance has been No.1 in the UK five times this year, with the bargain-priced Wii dancing game outselling some big triple-A releases.

Globally, the game has sold over 2m units – and in the UK alone the game has almost sold 1m.

Ubisoft has helped raise awareness of the brand in the UK by sponsoring Sky 1’s Pineapple Dance Studios.

The publisher’s win came during a big night for the games industry – click here to see all our coverage from last night’s event.
