Nottinghamshire to host first Angry Birds theme park

The UK’s very first Angry Birds theme park will open at the end of summer in Retford, Nottinghamshire.

It will open in Sundown Adventureland, and feature animal spring riders, swings, sandpits, climbing towers, slides and even a giant dummy catapult all based on Rovio’s hit mobile game.

Sundown Adventureland has placed a 250,000 order for the park with playground equipment manufacturer Lappset Group, which has teamed up with Rovio to launch the family-friendly parks worldwide.

Sundown’s park manager Paul Tomlinson said: We were very keen to have an Angry Birds Activity Park at Sundown as the brand is so well known throughout the world. It’s currently one of the most downloaded games and appeals to all ages – something that was very important for us as although the park is designed for under 10s, we are keen to welcome families.
