PlayStation VR sells out on Amazon US within minutes

Sony’s PlayStation VR has sold out once again.

The virtual reality headset went on sale on Amazon.com earlier, only to sell out within minutes. Other retailers still appear to have stock available for launch, although how long that will last remains to be seen.

Customers in the US have the choice between the barebones $399 SKU or instead a $500 bundle that also includes two Move controllers, a camera and some games.

This mirrors what we saw in the UK, where Amazon’s launch allocation was burnt through in about 45 minutes. Pre-orders have since re-opened, but are no longer guaranteed for launch and are limited to one per customer.

There’s no word yet on whether Sony will release the camera bundle in the UK, although plenty of retailers are already taking it upon themselves to bundle up the necessary gubbins.
