Promo code error leads to Origin freebie blunder

A mistake with an Origin promo code over the weekend left many gamers with a huge library of EA games – for free.

Kotaku reports that EA sent out a code to participants in a survey that entitled them to a free download from the Origin store. However, it was quickly discovered that the code could be redeemed multiple times.

With the internet being the internet, of course, word obviously spread like pictures of a topless princess and before EA knew it the Reddit community was feasting on freebies.

One gamer even netted 14 free titles before EA wised up to the scam.
it’s not clear how EA intends to react to the incident and whether or not it will allow those who took advantage to keep hold of the wares.
