PS4 due for Indian release this year

Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will launch in India this year alongside Europe.

PlayStation India country manager toldIVGthat the console would arrive in India at most a month after European release, but would still make it here in this calendar year, perhaps indicating the heavily rumoured November release in Europe.

The announcement comes as a big boost for the PS4 against the competing Xbox One, which as confirmed by Microsoft, will only officially arrive in India in late 2014.
