PS4 tops YouTube’s most-watched ads list

More than 26 million people watched Sony’s reveal trailer for its next-generation PS4 console last month.

The video, which can be viewed below, topped YouTube’s ads leaderboard for February 2013 with five million more views than the next most popular ad, which was from Samsung Mobile USA.

The rankings are based on which advertisements YouTube users chose to watch and share with other users, rather than just the unavoidable pre-roll ads that accompany almost every video on the site.

Sony’s PS4 trailer outperformed spots from car manufacturers Jeep, Ram Trucks and Chevrolet, plus Pepsi’s take on current fad Harlem Shake. Many of the ads first aired during last month’s Super Bowl in the US.
