PS4 update 2.01 arriving today, fixes Rest Mode bug

Sony will today release a new PS4 update that it says will fix the Rest Mode bug introduced in its last update.

Firmware update 2.0 rolled out last week and introduced a problem where the console would sometimes freeze up when being awoken from its standby state (now going under the name of Rest Mode). The problem could only be solved by forcing the console to hard reset.

So widespread was the issue that 2K even delayed the PS4 Evolve alpha, which was supposed to kick off at the weekend but was instead pushed back to Monday.

Sony hasn’t said whether the 2.1 update will also address the reported issues that the previous update caused with YouTube uploading.
