Report: Assassin’s Creed film dated for May 2015

20th Centry Fox has announced a premiere date for the Assassin’s Creed film.

The movie is set to release on May 22nd in 2015, according to a Box Office Mojo report.

New Regency will be handling production, and Michael Fassbender – of Prometheus and Inglorious Bastards fame – is onboard to star in and produce the film.

British playwright Micahel Lesslie has been signed on to pen the script as well.

As IGN notes, the adaptation will open just weeks after Marvel’s The Avengers 2.
