Leeds and North studios praised at big night for games development

Rockstar wins two Develop Awards

Rockstar Games was the proud winner of two Develop Awards last night.

Both its UK studios took home prizes, with Rockstar North named as Best In-house Studio, and Rockstar Leeds winning the Best Handheld Studio prize.

In the past year, North released The Lost and Damed – the Xbox Live episode sequel to GTA IV, which last year helped Rockstar win a handful of prizes at the 2008 Develop Awards. It’s been hailed as one of the more significant examples of DLC on the market today.

Rockstar Leeds, meanwhile, released GTA: Chinatown Wars for the DS earlier this year. The game is still the highest rated handheld game on Metacritic and has been widely-praised.
