BBC Worldwide says new project will launch on PC, PS3 and PS Vita

SuperMassive Games scores Doctor Who contract

Guildford indie studio Supermassive Games has been commissioned development of a new Dr Who game for PC, PS3 and PS Vita.

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, has dated the new game for an early 2012 release.

The project, Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, is said to be the first in a new series. The project has incorporated vice acting from actors in the current TV run, with the script co-written by BBC Wales.

In June last year, Supermassive launched one of its first self-owned IPs – a free-to-play PC football management game called Big Match Striker.

Months later it was announced that Supermassive Games was utilising the Gamebryo engine for future projects.
