New location aims to employ 200 staff within five years

Ubisoft opens production studio in the Philippines

Ubisoft has bolstered its Eastern strength with a new studio.

Ubisoft Philippines is the second outlet from the publisher based in the Southeast Asian region, after its Singapore offices were opened in 2008, and is said to be focused on developing triple-A titles, as well as assisting the publisher’s other devs with projects.

The new studio will open in Q2 2016, based on the local De La Salle University campus, and is looking to hire up to 50 workers by the same time next year.

Ubisoft added that it plans for the Philippines office to be home to 200 employees within the next five years.

Ubisoft Singapore helped with the creation of the Assassin’s Creed series, including the naval combat of 2013’s Black Flag. The developer is now working on an unannounced title for PC and console.

Heading up Ubisoft Philippines will be former Ubisoft Singapore veteran Chip Go.
