Ubisoft signs Steven Gerrard

Ubisoft has announced that star footballer Steven Gerrard will be the face of its forthcoming title Pure Football.

The Liverpool captain and new England vice captain will be one of 230 playable footballers from 17 international teams, as well as appearing as the star of the game’s cover art.

Gerrard said: I’m proud to be the ambassador of Pure Football. Not only does this game reflect the way I like football – more physical, more technical – but it’s also a lot of fun to play with friends.”

Pure Football was announced earlier this month and marks Ubisoft’s first entry into the core football market. It will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in May.
