US: Sandisk shipping 360 USB drives

PC peripherals firm Sandisk has released its first Xbox 360 branded USB memory drives in North America.

As spotted by VG247, the devices come in two flavours – an 8GB variant for $34.99 and a 16GB version for $69.99.

Microsoft added the ability to use any USB mass storage device on Xbox 360 in a firmware update released last month. Users are now able to save a whole host of data types on external devices including gamertags, games installs and DLC.

The Sandisk drives come pre-formatted for use on the console and also include the said firmware update for those who don’t have their consoles connected online. Also included is a one month Xbox Live Gold membership code.
