Punch-Out Wii and GameCube re-releases confirmed

Alongside the news of a

brand new multimedia re-visioning of the DS

(as exclusively confirmed by MCV yesterday), Nintendo has also announced that a Wii version of its popular boxing title Punch Out is in development.

Also confirmed is a sequel to Treasure’s cult classic Sin and Punishment, though it’s unclear whether this is for Wii or DS – and indeed, whether Treasure will once again be at the helm.

In addition, the platform holder also announced that it is to re-release a number of its popular GameCube titles, giving them a Wiimote-friendly makeover. Pikmin is the first title to be confirmed.

There was no sign, however, of either the new Mario or Zelda titles touted at E3.
