Recommended Battlefield 4 PC settings require Windows 8

EA’s recommended PC system requirements for Battlefield 4 contain one particularly interesting demand.

The minimum requirements are reasonably generous, needing Windows Vista SP2 32-Bit, either an AMD Athlon X2 2.8GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB of RAM, 512GB of video RAM and either an AMD Radeon HD 3870 or Nvidia GeForce 8800GT.

The recommended requirements are unsurprisingly more demanding.

That list specifies either an AMD six-core CPU or Intel quad-core, 8GB of system RAM, a whopping 3GB of video RAM and either an AMD Radeon HD 7870 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 660.

Interestingly, the recommended list also specifies Windows 8 64-Bit as the operating system.

That may be simply because the latest versions of Direct X require Windows 8, but either way it’s likely to irk PC gamers, many of whom still favour Microsoft’s Windows 7 OS.
