Amazon grabs Angry Birds Rio exclusivity

Fresh from announcing 100 million downloads for its Angry Birds games and predicting that tablets will kill consoles, now Rovio has announced an exclusive deal for the Android version of its Angry Birds Rio game.

No, not with GetJar, the app store that bagged first dibs on the original Angry Birds for Android. Rovio is teaming up with Amazon to initially release the Rio version on its store exclusively.

What’s more, the Amazon Appstore for Android will also have exclusive paid Android versions of Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons.

Amazon’s Android app store hasn’t launched yet, but is presumably about to – the film comes out next month after all.
