Counter-Strike: Global Offensive releasing on 21st August

Valve today announced the release date to the latest instalment in one of India’s best selling game franchises, Counter-Strike.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is scheduled for release digitally on 21st August, 2012 via Steam (PC and Mac), Xbox Live (Xbox 360) and PlayStation Network (PS3). The game will be priced at $15.

Global Offensive is being developed by Valve along with Hidden Path Entertainment. Besides all the new maps, game modes, weapons and characters, it will also include updated versions of all-time favourite Counter-Strike maps, such as de_dust.

Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source remain popular in India to this day and are regular fixtures at cyber cafes and competitive gaming tournaments in the country. Last week, Counter-Strike 1: Anthology was the fourth-best-selling game at Flipkart.
