Deadline extended for Dixons and Carphone Warehouse merger

Dixons and Carphone Warehouse have been given more time to discuss their possible 4bn merger.

Both companies were asked to come to an agreement at 5pm today (March 24th), but the Takeover Panel has now granted their request for an extension to the agreement first aired in February.

The two firms must now announce their plans by no later than 5pm on May 19th.
