Funcom bringing LEGO Minifigures Online to Fire TV

Online title LEGO Minifigures Online is being ported to Amazon’s Fire TV and Fire HDX tablets.

Funcom’s game is already available on PC and has versions in the works for iOS and Android tablets. In-game content is unlocked via codes included in series 12 of LEGO’s physical Minifigure packs.

Fire TV owners will need the optional game controller to play the title. The game is expected to arrive on Fire TV at the end of the year with the Amazon tablet arriving in Q1 2015.

Cross-play will be supported across all versions of the game.

"We are very excited to be working closely with the Amazon engineers to bring LEGO Minifigures Online to their platforms," Funcom CTO Rui Casais said.

"Working closely with Amazon will provide an experience that is highly optimized for each device. The game will feature full cross-play, so even if your friends are playing on a PC or any other device, you can still play with them in the same world even if they are on the Fire TV system or on a Fire tablet."
