Halo Reach for £28 at Tesco

Following news that Microsoft’s Halo Reach has already arrived with some UK shoppers, it has now emerged that Tesco is to aggressively cut the price of the game in its UK stores come its release on Tuesday.

Consumer advice site Frugal Gaming has got its hands on a photo of some marketing material advertising the game for just 28. That’s nearly a 50 per cent discount on the game’s official RRP and – crucially for indie retailers – somewhat less than the trade price many shop owners will be buying the game in for.

However, the price will only be available to those who buy a 2100 Microsoft Points Card. These normally retail for around 18, though it’s unclear whether these will be also sold at a promotional price. Tesco has previously offered the cards for as little as 10.

The deal isn’t quite as aggressive as the 24.97 Tesco was selling FIFA 10 for last October, but will still cause a bit of a headache for specialist retailers.
